Dr. Sundeep Khanna, a civil servant and researcher, is ex- Director General, RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration, Bhopal. Dr. Khanna holds a meritorious undergraduate, postgraduate and post doctoral record having attained several distinctions in universities of Delhi, Gwalior and Bhopal. He is a doctorate in Public Administration and possesses outstanding competence in administrative law, law relating to contempt of courts, internal security and the Armed Forces. In 2009-10 he successfully conducted a Parallel Foundation Course for 78 officers of Group ‘A’ Central Services and a “Special Foundation Course” for 83 All India Services officers who had missed Foundation Course in their normal turn.
Dr. Sundeep Khanna belongs to 1972 batch of the Madhya Pradesh Cadre of Indian Administrative Service and has held assignments under the State and Central Governments. He was Collector Raisen, Morena and Gwalior for a period of five years, Industries Commissioner and later on Principal Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department. He was Director (Internal Security), MHA, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Ministry of Defence and Additional Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in the Govt. of India. He did quasi-judicial work for nearly fourteen years.
He has contributed remarkably to issues relating to elderly care, drug abuse, and induction of women in the Armed Forces, establishment of industrial growth centres, expansion of road network in border areas and record export of 330 lakh tonnes of foodgrains in 2002-04
During his vast span of career he has either been part of Indian delegations or has headed the same to United Nations, World Bank, representing India in negotiations for various Treaty obligations. He has visited many countries throughout the globe viz., United States of America, Germany, Japan, France, South Korea, U.K., Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Myanmar, Bhutan, Bulgaria, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Ireland, South Africa, Kenya, China, Switzerland, Spain, Austria, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Georgia and the special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau.
Dr. Khanna has published four books namely Civil Administration in India, Collector Through the Centuries, Simplified Contempt of Courts Act (in Hindi) and Life in a Forest Village apart from numerous research papers and review articles. He has also contributed a chapter on “Magisterial Role in Law Enforcement” to the Encyclopedia of Police in India which was edited by S/Sh. K.F. Rustamji and S.K. Ghosh well known police officers of the country. He has also edited a compilation on Poverty & Responsive Administration He is a Life Member of Indian Law Institute, Indian Institute of Public Administration, Indian Political Science Association and Indian History Congress for more than three decades.
Dr. Sundeep Khanna has been nominated by Hon'ble Speaker , Lok Sabha, as Member of the Committee set up to monitor the implementation of the Internship Programme of the Lok Sabha Secretariat. He is also nominated by the Deptt. of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India as Member of the Committee on School Leadership Development setup in April 2010.
